Well, it wasn't what I was expecting actually.
I had in mind something bigger and also breakable, since the description said it was in ceramic....
But I snapped pretty quickly from my surprise and I think the final product is good ^^

It's actually made in figure like material (this thick plastic, you know?) and it actually have the size of my hand, so cute!
Furthermore, the cat and the mini calendar are not linked so you could use them separately if you want :)

My POV will be resumed to this: this is a calendar.end.
I really can't find anything else to say ^^;; Of course, it's all smooth and new and neat and pretty and printed on good quality paper etc.. but there is nothing especially impressing neither original nor noticeable about it in its constitution/design/layout etc..
So, sincerely, if I had wanted to I could have shared 3000px photos, or even spent the whole week scanning and editing in HQ, but I just didn't think it was worth it seeing how most, if not all, the pictures are already known by pretty much everyone who reads the manga.

My fav months are March, April and July, what about yours guys?

All along, since the moment I pre-ordered it a while back, I've been wondering if that was a desktop calendar or a planner, the information online was really not enough to have quite a clear idea of how it was...
And the answer was.....it's BOTH XD

I gotta say I was nicely surprised by the DGM2010 calendar, they actually thought it through!

It can work as both a desktop or a planner depending on the use you want to have of it, it also includes a special card in 3D with each character on a different layer (there are around 7 layers?), which is pretty good seen in real but impossible to scan ^^;; + a cube like calendar that you can construct yourself + semi-transparent stickers to past on your calendar/planner to mark special dates ^____^

I only took one photo of a month as example, but there are double pages for every single month of the year,
and the layout is absolutely identical.

The cube like calendar, I didn't took it out yet to make it; the paper used is very thick, it won't break anytime soon ;)

The stickers ^^ My only 'problem' is that, well, there is just too many black and white stuff in this calendar ^^;;
So I would have liked it better if they had put some color in the stickers...

Now you can see the planner/calendar put on its support, and which allows it to be a desktop calendar~
I didn't make it well though, the support is supposed to be completely flat on the surface level, I didn't push it far enough :P
Meaning the horizontal black bar you see is not supposed to be seen...

2010 calendars & preorders

Aarrrggggg!!!

I had just written a super lengthy post about the calendars, my POV, regrets about some and hesitation about others and even an historic of the past calendars I got and it was a damn long *boring?* post!!....which was totally lost when I clicked on the cursed 'Homepage/Start' icon instead of 'Open new tab' icon

*banging head on wall*

Well! It's useless to cry over spilled milk as we say ^^;;
To resume it all, I hesitated quite a lot for a long while: when you are faced with a listing of hundreds of calendar all of anime/series you are ALL familiar with, it's Hell to cut off one or the other, I felt like a company boss breaking his brain about who's of this staff should be sacked or something ^^;;;;
The Pandora Hearts manga calendar was gorgeous Art wise, but I didn't feel like getting a calendar of a series I'm not too involved with, even though I did read most of the chapters, I never 'clicked' with PH for some reason.
Then there is Macross Frontier, which movies are ones of the most exciting releases I'm waiting for but, for whatever reason, I didn't feel like having the calendar, I'd rather get the DVD or artbooks.
For Kemono No Souja Erin, which is by FAR one of the absolute best anime of the past years and which I'm totally in love with!!, but seriously, I mean, they used the DVD covers for most of the calendar's pages (there are only 6...), what a disappointment!!! I felt like screaming! *or howling, whichever you like best :P*
Then there are series like One Piece/Naruto/Bleach/Reborn etc.. which calendars are, of course, well made but again, I didn't felt like owning them either...
I also have some regrets of the type: "why didn't they release a manga Kuroshitsuji calendar??!!" or "aaahhhh...after so many years, I would totally have enjoyed new CCS arts...with Syaoran that is" XD XD

And finally, here goes the final verdict!
They are surprisingly not series I'm too involved with either, nor too passionate about, nor that I dislike of course, I enjoy them very much!!! (I'm been fervently following both the anime and manga of FMA for a long time :D) Anyway they are mysteriously the ones I was attracted to and chose, but if you ask me why, my answer would be "no idea, beat me!":

I also preordered TRC Album of Reproduction 2. Needless to say, I won't scan double pages, it's just plain impossible without destroying the book ^^;;
But in case I'm the first one to actually get/scan/share the book online in a way or another, I will very likely make HQ scans of the 2 new oneshots that were announced, together with the new illustrations (if I'm not mistaken, the covers are the only new arts?). I could make a beautiful scanlation of them too, but I'd need a jp-eng translation first...

I just learned today there was only one chapter left of Nodame Cantabile!!!!!
I actually had absolutely no idea Nodame Cantabile was coming to an end AT ALL!!! Well, I guess it's normal since it was just announced but STILL!!
It totally made me go "NNNAAAAANNNIIIIII????!!!" *eyes pop out*
There seems to be still so many things to be told, shown and learned about Chiaki and Megumi!! Sincerely, and I mean really SERIOUSLY, I thought the end won't be coming for YEARS, considering the many INFINITE plots that could be made about the two!
I'm really, REALLY sad about this, this is one of the rare series I really didn't want to end, FOR REAL ;______;

That is pretty amazing...so Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle will end October 7th, and Nodame Cantabile October 10th....As for XXXHolic it's scheduled for the end of the year too. Did all the mangakas talk between themselves and made a pact or something to turn a new leaf on 2010 or something?? ^^;;;
But I'm fine with TRC and Holic ending, Clamp went too far with the 'turn over Logic' and messed up everything, though I still have some hope left for Holic...the only thing that would have bothered me about these 2 series ending is never ever seeing Syaoran again, but Clamp spoiled us already telling us we will get to see Syaoran Li soon enough in the future and be told why did he go back so suddenly to Hong Kong in CCS vol12.

Arrrrghhhh!!!!! *remembering Nodame again after my mind strayed away for a moment*
Chiakiiiiii!!!! Megummiiiiii!!! Don't do that to mmeeeeee!!!!! TT_______TT
And is that why there isn't a 2010 calendar!!!!! *looking tearfully at the 2009 calendar full of beautiful artworks hanged right in front of me, that was my first time buying a Nodame calendar, was it fate that I purchased the very last calendar released of this series? TT__________________________________TT*
Ok, before I start hyperventilating, I have to remember all that is left to be released:
-Nodame Cantabile chapter 136 [end-october 10th 2009]
-Nodame Cantabile anime season 3 [spring 2010]
-Nodame Cantabile Movies [2 movies] live action [2010]
Yeah, I think I could survive with that for a while, somehow, since I will have the 2 movies of Macross Frontier and the 2 others movies of Eden of the East distracting me meanwhile, add to it Kobato which, hopefully, will heal us from the disappointment of TRC upcoming ending (yes, at this point, Clamp messed up enough for me to say safely that pretty much no matter what they do, nothing will be good enough to erase all we went through this past year), and also a new chapter of DGrayMan in November.

Well, I've been working on my other LJ, sucre_rose , my scans/scanlation corner, and while it's still under construction (=I still have tons of scans to add...), it did start looking rather decent ^___^
You will realize with the passing of time that while I'm adding up *old* scans, I'm also making sometimes updates and posting new scans you won't found here, in my CuteSherry account.
As for the access...well, right now, everyone can have access to all the thread, but I can't tell how long it will stay that way ^^;; There will very likely be threads I will block and make friends only eventually.

Leaving that aside, I wanted to announce more then anything my first scanlation release under Sucre Rose's name (I made other scanlations in the past but for others groups...) : it's Card Captor Sakura CD COMIC & CD DRAMA .
It's a super HQ release : a oneshot manga of CCS, by Clamp.
Published in CCS Kodansha CD Comic book, it comes together with a CD Drama (sound in .mp3 format), to which the oneshot story is linked.
It was never licensed outside of Japan and very likely never will ^^;;
It's nothing new, but definitely something extremely rare that you, Clamp's fans, will definitely like!! Enjoy~

Animage September 2009 issue [HQ scans]

Please bear in my mind the scans I'm sharing are all HQ pics with high resolutions, meaning they are 'heavy'.

My criteria of scanning is really simple: when I get my magazines by mail, I check on Minitokyo and Animepaper what are the pictures that were already shared by others fans, and I simply scan and post what wasn't shared before.
The only cases I would re-scan something, would be either if 1-I actually didn't notice the scan was already posted, or 2-in the case I am confident that my scanning would be significantly better then another's.

Those pictures are my property and it took me an eternity to scan/edit all this+upload, leaving aside the price of the magazine and shipping cost from Japan... I did something I haven't done for a very long time: use my microwave aha~ Yep, this is a pretty well known technique to make the *plucking* of the pages easier...but Animage sure use some real strong glue! That wasn't easy and I actually ripped some others pages I scanned ;__;

This is a Tsubasa Chronicle AMV made by M0oranshi
It's only 1:21min long so it won't take much of your time to watch it *I always advise to watch in HD and full screen best, it can completely change your feeling about a video ^__^*

It got lots of actions and, actually, I couldn't help feeling better about TRC after watching: after several MONTHS of........'slow activity' in the manga -couldn't think of anything nice to say- I was seriously starting to get mad and wonder just what have I been doing those past 6 years of my life *ok, so I wasn't so dramatic about it LOL XD* but you get what I mean, but I couldn't help smiling after viewing this video, thinking: "there REALLY were awesome and cool moments in TRC" ^______^

Latest vector wallpaper ~Rêverie~

It's been quite a while since I've last posted a wallpaper~

It's the first time I've ever used a doujinshi scan and not an official artwork on a wall...that said, I consider Patisserie circle as the number one best Card Captor Sakura doujins circle and I'm a fan of Suzuko Sahara works with Card Captor Sakura ^__^
You can see the scan I used bellow, this is the *fanservice* shot of a teenager Sakura in swim suit, she is around 14-15 years old. It's not part of a doujinshi, just a random picture coming together with some text about whatever...

Aside from that, it's the usual: this is *of course* completely vectored, Sakura was colored from scratch since the original scan was in black in white, and I also completed the part of her head that was missing and slightly changed her hair style at some points, I don't think it's very noticeable though.
The bathtube is from an artbook of CCS, but I changed the perspective when I vectored it: it was originally a front view, but I passed it into a side view.
I drew myself and then added up the little sparkling stars, I found it too boring for it to be plain water drops :P The same thing happened with the rainbow: I used plain colors at first (the usual red-orange-yellow-green-blue rainbow you can see anywhere) but found it too plain and started playing around with patterns~ And *yes*, there IS a cute duckling at the end of the rainbow, I found it more interesting then a star :P
As for the curtains, my idea was that Sakura and the whole scene was originally hidden behind it, but a 'photograph' (the wallpaper) was taken at a moment the curtains flew aside, surprising Sakura aha~

This is a fantastic world which really got no logic at all : a sky in the BG, a flying duck at the end of a rainbow, a ground that doesn't go straight and seems to be curving, sparkling stars instead of water drops...and to be sincere, I was VERY tempted to add wings to Sakura-chan but I ended dropping the idea :P Anyway, just don't try to find any explanations to anything you see and just enjoy this rêverie of mine!

I got only good reviews in both Minitokyo and AnimePaper, Everyone found it utterly CUTE! XD Which made me very happy because this is the feeling I wanted to produce: a light and kawaii feeling while looking at this fantasy little world, a Dream place.

Got them from Amazon.co.jp, thanks to the zooming system, and it was really damn boring to reconstruct the picture like a puzzle with 9-10 pieces using the function 'print screen' each time, cropping and selecting and pasting the exact same things systematically time and time again, blah! ^^;;
Not the best scan ever, but still should be good enough somehow? The dimensions are around 1000*1400px.

Well, this is really nothing "new" since most of you must have seen this scan already, but since no one seems to have bothered to share an HQ scan, I took the job on myself ;)
The quality is not as good as it could have been since it was printed on the same paper as Kobato's chapter, and not on the usual glossy pages of Newtype...
Still, this should be good enough, neh? ^^

As always, please refrain from sharing the picture elsewhere or claiming at as your own.

Gone on vacation

I'm just passing by to tell you guys I'm going back to my parents', from July 12th until August 2nd. My plane is taking off in a few hours, we will see if my newly found plane phobia will disappear by then ^^;; I really went on a plane a 100 million times already, but the latest planes crashes that happened the last months seems to have influenced me, I shouldn't have watched the News so often T____T

I sincerely don't know how often I will able to go online, especially since my parents will have their eyes on me: if I spend my days online, I'm SURE to get something like "So! This is what you do all year long when you are alone??!! Going online, playing in forums and photoshoping? And your studies?? (studies being the key word)".
Furthermore, they will have it easy if they want to stop me from going online: their internet connections is a Mobile 3G modem (an USD modem access device), so they really only need to take away this super practical weightless device and put it in their pocket, right under my nose ¬___¬

As for the Clamp 20th anniversary project, I still couldn't find the time to do anything x_______x I will do my best the next days and see just how in the Hell I am going to find out how to have it scanned uurrgghh...I will thing of something ^^;;;

I believe this should be my first time exposing my thoughts about TRC in my own LJ ^^
Here we go:

FWR plans was to be able to revive Yuuko by destroying the Logic of the Universe, making the impossible possible....

What is happening now with "Syaoran" fathering himself, Yuuko being kept alive while she should be dead, Watanuki existence, all the timelines that are overlapping each others in a chaotic order or just snow bunnies with fur living in a tropical country (do you guys still remember this? :P) goes against "Logic".
Everything that happened until now had been made possible by the World being twisted by Clow Reed wish, a long time ago (the world started to get twisted starting from the very moment Yuuko did not die like she should have...).
And this twisting has been getting worst and worst, with FWR intervention, until being completely destroyed...

So now that everything is being rewound back, with the purpose of putting that Logic back in place, just how much of what we've seen until now will be conserved? How much will the Past/Present/Future of the people closely involved in this mess will be modified? We already witnessed once before what happened as a result of a rewinding, when "Syaoran" wished "Once again": all the people present at that moment had their lives drastically changed!
Because in a "Logical World", someone cannot be fathered by himself or be alive when they should be dead, or exist when they shouldn't...etc
Which is why Yuuko is so worried about Watanuki for example: now that the Logic is being repaired, his existence is endangered by it's "illogicality" ...Proof is, Yuuko is gone now that her Time started again: for her to keep on existing anymore would have been against Logic...
This is the important points that come to my mind right now.

I just received my Shimarisu no Hoobukuro (aka chipmunk cheeks) book.
My 2nd exam will be in 4 days, so you're in luck, I'm allowing myself to take time to do some scanning ^__^

My opinion: definitely NOT worth buying if you can't read japanese, because there is a lot of text.
And just looking at the few pictures which illustrate the articles might not be enough to justify buying it, depending on how much you like Clamp's artwork.

I've scanned a selection of pictures from the articles, and a couple of full pages.
I will NOT scan the whole thing for 2 very obvious reasons:
1-I can't spend to much time scanning, I have lot of studying to do.
2-this is different from scanning a single book cover without exposing the content, or 2-3 illustrations half covered with text from a magazine. This is copyrighted material that was released YESTERDAY in Japan and which purpose is to sell those images and articles, so I won't spoil their selling by showing the content of the book .
Consider these scans to have an informative purpose more then anything, for you to have an idea of how this book is inside, which is why you will realize that while being of good quality, the dimensions are more reduced then what I usually share in my LJ.

DO NOT SHARE THOSE SCANS AND DO NOT CLAIM THEM AS YOUR OWN.
If you want to scanlate the 2 pages thing bellow, you can pm me and I will send you the *real* HQ .psd files Feel free to use the pictures anyway you want for any type of artwork (icons, avatar, banner, signature, vector....).
You can also make translations, which would actually be very welcome :D
To put it simply, just don't cut/past the scans I'm sharing ^^;;;

If there is anything specific (meaning you absolutely want a picture/article from a determined issue of Newtype) you can request it to me right here in this page or by PM, but be precise: something like "all the pics/articles of year 2006" is a no go.

Major change of layout ^^

This is something I've been working for a little while now, doing a little bit every time I had some time or had a break.
Needless to say, as always, this was supposed to be SO MUCH simpler then the final result I got to ^^;
But yeah, the more I did, the more stuffs I changed and added up until creating something completely new that was miles away from the original idea~
The banner was completely vectored, the bath tube was vectored from an CCS original pic, I changed its perspective and the water turned into shiny stars~
As for Sakura, it was a black and white scan by Suzuco Sahara that I vectored too and colored from scratch; after my exams, I will release the HQ wallpaper version which will be a bit different from what you can see above ^^
I'm also the one who made the whole lace like border.
I will very likely won't change this for a while now...
The only "problem" I'm having now is that I can't manage my userpics for whatever reason (I already contacted LJ support about it) so yeah, this super cute layout with Sebastian dark face as a default icon just doesn't match no matter in what angle you look at it ^^;;;
I ended up resolving the problem myself, I just had to disable ABP in the usericon page and everything appeared back to normal ^^

Patisserie doujinshi

uggghhh....
This is not the first time I'm witnessing a Patisserie CCS doujinshi being sold at an unholy price on yahoo.jp auctions, but I believe this is the very first time it went so far....
The CCS doujinshi number 14 was sold a few minutes ago for....39000 JPY = 411 USD @__@ (even more expensive then the 2nd Limited Edition BOX of CCS blu ray that will be relased next month ^^;;;)
This is one of the hardest Patisserie doujin to get but still, I didn't expect someone to got *that* far....though, I did see other Patisserie CCS doujins being sold at +20000 JPY more then once... And the minimum prices are around a 100 USD for the least demanded CCS ones...
And to think that such a popular and amazing CCS doujinshi author is now....a hardcore fan of Code Geass and SuzakuxLelouch TT_____TT

But seriously, seeing how crazy CCS japanese fans are, how come no one riot Clamp's studio yet with all they've done to SxS in TRC and how they've been playing us all those years? XD XD XD

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle volume 27 HQ scans

My! Aren't you guys lucky?
I've got my package from Amazon first thing in the morning!!! ^__^

I will be sharing the Deluxe cover and the Normal one. I also got the Special edition with DVD but the outer box is absolutely identical to the previous one (with feathers on a black BG) so I don't see the necessity to scan the exact same thing again.
As for the Normal Edition that comes with the DVD, I think that sharing the textless cover (postcard) should make everyone happy ^_~ EDIT: I added up the Normal cover too.

It's been 5 YEARS since I've last bought a Deluxe Edition, it's somehow a bit exciting XD Now you guys will wonder why in the Hell I wouldn't buy the Deluxe edition which is so much better in absolutely every sens? First, I'm already buying the Normal Edition in my country (spanish edition) so it's not like I *need* to buy the japanese books because it's the only existing one one Earth or something...Second, I got the Artbook with all the major color pictures from the manga + the scans online...and more then anything, no matter how beautiful it is, I don't understand japanese so those books would pretty much be nothing more then a...decoration.
But I'm making an exception for vol27 since it got CCS|SxS featured on it!!! XD XD XD (though, I'd rather had them adult with chinese clothing if you ask me...)
I will also very likely buy in the future the Deluxe Edition volumes with Clone|Syaoran and Clone|Sakura, maybe Watanuki too? But that would be it.

BTW, I'd like to precise that vol27 ends with chapitre 219. Meaning that chapitre 220 is already the start of volume 28.

TRC 27 Special Edition....sharing delay?

Well, for all the people who might or must be expecting me to share the scans for TRC 27 Special Edition, I'm sorry but I'm afraid it's gonna take a while ^^;;
I pre-ordered it almost 5-6 months ago in Amazon.jp but it seems like even that is not enough!! ;____;
I just received a notice from Amazon notifying me there would be a delay...the shipping estimate was pushed from May 16th to....between May 27th and June 7th!! @___@
On the other side, with Amazon, I'm used for these dates to change aallll the time... They might just change the dates in the next 10min...or not ^^;;
Well, nothing, that's all of it~

EDIT (May 14th): the shipping date went back to May 16th, let's hope it stays like that (it will, seeing how they tried to get funds from my bank and came complaining by email because there wasn't enough -___-)
So I will be getting it next week, on wednesday at most and shall share the HQ scans the same day~

Animage May 2009 issue

Here goes the Animage scans. It's mostly FullMetal Alchemist, but there are also 07Ghost, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Sengoku Basara and Eden of the East.

Please bear in my mind the scans I'm sharing are all 600dpi HQ pics, meaning they are HEAVY...

Those pictures are my property and it took me an eternity to scan/edit all this+upload, leaving aside the price of the magazine and shipping cost from Japan... They shall not be posted elsewhere (starting with art communities like AnimePaper or Minitokyo...) nor be claimed as your own. But feel free to use them however you want for any kind of digital art (banner, icon, vector, wall...) or to link back to my LJ entry.
